Woman's selfie trip damages 10 crowns worth $2 lakh

A woman caused about $2,00,000 in damage when she knocked over about 10 pieces of artwork while taking a selfie at the 14th Factory Exhibition in Los Angeles.
Video captured by a surveillance camera showed that the woman attempted to take a selfie with one of the displayed crowns. When she crouched down for the best angle, she suddenly fell backward and knocked one over and caused a domino effect, as all the art pieces were set closely to each other.
All other pieces in that row were knocked over. Their value is estimated at $20,000 each. A spokeswoman of the 14th Factory confirmed to Fox News on Saturday that three sculptures were permanently destroyed, while others were partially damaged.

cctv surveillance system

NEC has provided a facial recognition system for South Wales Police in the UK through NEC Europe Ltd., which uses the company’s flagship facial recognition software platform NeoFace Watch.
The software is used for real-time CCTV surveillance, as well as still image and recorded video face search, which acts as a security measure in crowded locations, such as airports and stadiums.
The police force has deployed NeoFace Watch using CCTV cameras installed on several police vehicles. It is using the software’s real-time surveillance capability to locate persons of interest on pre-determined watchlists, including criminals, suspects, vulnerable individuals and missing persons.
“Facial recognition technology will enable us to search, scan and monitor images and video against a range of offender databases leading to faster and more accurate identification of persons of interest,” Assistant Chief Constable Richard Lewis said. “This has been borne out by the recent arrest of a 34-year old man from Cardiff who was wanted for a recall to prison. He had walked past several officers on a main street in Cardiff before he was identified by the cameras and it is probably an arrest we would not have made at any previous time.”
The South Wales Police system was deployed for the final match of the UEFA Champions League on June 3 at the National Stadium of Wales, which drew up to 170,000 football fans in Cardiff that day.
“We deployed NEC’s real-time solution, which enabled trained officers to monitor the movement of people at strategic locations in and around the city center during this massive event. It was a great success,” said ACC Lewis.

South Wales Police has become the first police force to use a real-time facial recognition system at a large-scale sporting event in the UK.
The system will also be used to cross-check still images and recorded video captured at crime scenes against roughly 500,000 images stored on its custody image database.
“NEC is very proud to be working closely with South Wales Police. We now have deployments of NeoFace Watch in 47 countries, used by a wide range of government and commercial organizations,” said Chris de Silva, head of global face recognition solutions at NEC Europe Ltd. “NEC is committed to providing valuable solutions for society and we will continue proposing innovative new solutions using face recognition, both in the UK and around the world.”
NEC was recently awarded the 2017 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Integrated Biometrics Solutions for Public Safety Leadership Award.

cc camera dealers in hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad police used technology to the hilt and travelled across the country to solve the 3.5kg gold heist. After the offence took place on April 16 evening, special teams of cops sifted volumes of CCTV camera footages and found the number plate of the Toyota Camry vehicle used by the three Peruvians at Renuka Designers garment store in Kukatpally .

The police then rushed to a Toyota service centre and checked the records of the vehicle to realise that it was last serviced in 2015 at a Mumbai centre.

One team of cops went to Mumbai and questioned one PS Saraf, whose name is in the RTA records as the owner of the vehicle. Based on the information given by Saraf and the vehicle's subsequent owners, the police zeroed in on a Bangalore-based car dealer Rasheed.

Rasheed told the cops that two Nigerians, Saiki Onimisi Dele alias Michael alias Benjamin and Belkins, had purchased the vehicle from him on April 6.

After giving this information to the cops, Rasheed alerted Belkins, who immediately left Bangalore to cross over to Bangladesh via the Indo-Bangla border in Tripura. A BSF team caught Belkins while he was trying to cross the border recently and handed him over to the Tripura police.

HYDERABAD: In a bid to enhance safety and security measures at major railway stations around the city, the authorities on Monday decided to install 130 CCTV cameras at the Secunderabad railway station and 59 at the Nampally station. Another 29 cameras will be installed at the Kacheguda railway station.

This apart, authorities have also decided to set up baggage scanners near the entrances and enforce various rules such as lane discipline inside the railway station and removal of vehicles found parked for a long period of time.

These measures were taken during first safety review meeting of a special committee formed for the purpose and plugging existing security loopholes. The special committee that includes officials from railways, traffic police, Hyderabad
Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force(RPF), Road Transport Corporation (RTC) and Hyderabad Metro rail limited (HMRL) was formed by DG Road and Railway safety, T Krishna Prasad.

Further, chief commercial manager, south central railway, M G Sekharam, proposed introduction of pre-paid auto service at the Hyderabad and Kacheguda stations to provide a safe and economical travel option to passengers.Suggestions like increasing surveillance at main entrance of Secunderabad station and shifting the bus stop's location from Chilkalguda to an appropriate place, were also listed.

The committee has now decided to meet every month to follow up on this plan.

The committee will also assess the requirement of any traffic junction or signal in the surrounding areas to ease traffic flow.
